Daily Accepted, Transformed, and Compelled by God's Love

Pastor's Sinew

Pastor Tom has been fighting illness during the time leading to this edition of the newsletter. Hopefully, he will be back to his norm by the time this is printed and contribute to the next edition. Breathe Free, the stop smoking program, was a wonderful learning experience for all involved. Thank-you to all our guest speakers and testimonies, and a special thank-you to the support teams for the participants. Graduation was held on April 17. If you should see any of our participants, provide a word of encouragement to remain a non-smoker. They have done a difficult and worthwhile job deserving a hearty verbal pat on the back.

Rescuers 101 continues through May. We have reviewed the gospel message: we are sinners, God loves us, Jesus is our saviour; gone on a prayer walk where we pray for the people God brings to us; and explored Biblical texts that show our need to surrender to Jesus. Get in the word daily. Know God in every moment of your life.

“Desires for goodness and holiness are right as far as they go; but if you stop here, they will avail nothing. Many will be lost while hoping and desiring to be Christians. They do not come to the point of yielding the will to God. They do not now choose to be Christians.

“Through the right exercise of the will, an entire change may be made in your life. By yielding up your will to Christ, you ally yourself with the power that is above all principalities and powers. You will have strength from above to hold you steadfast, and thus through constant surrender to God you will be enabled to live the new life, even the life of faith.”    Steps to Christ pp 48-49
